during the November Directors Meeting held November 2011...

It is with deep sadness but also with great appreciation that the Huisking Foundation remembers the life
and service of Bill Shanks.

Bill was a beacon of light and reason at board meetings, respected for his keen intelligence, his wise counsel ,
his dry wit and his calming nature. His wealth of experience and knowledge in financial and tax matters made
him a particularly valuable member of the Investment Committee.
When Bill was elected to the board of directors in 2006, the foundation was at a crossroads...............

 Today, in large part because of Bill’s strengths as a leader and a consensus-builder, the situation has dramatically improved.
The preamble of the Huisking Foundation honors the “sweet nature, the sterling qualities, the grand
character and the noble attributes” of the late Frank Huisking. That description also applies to Bill Shanks.
 

We join his family and friends in mourning his loss, but we are grateful that he was in our lives, and that he
left us an enormous legacy.”
